The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Mission Statement

American Red Cross volunteers are afforded the opportunity to gain work experience in a variety of fields to include administration, personnel management, medical assisting and teaching. We offer a variety of training programs to include dental assisting, disaster services, health and safety instructor/trainer and emergency preparedness.

Volunteering

Disaster strikes without warning, and here on Okinawa, we are particularly vulnerable to various forces of nature. From typhoons to earthquakes, fires to flooding, being prepared is the best way to assure your family's safety. Visit the Red Cross for relevant information such as preparedness tips, weather updates and the current TCCOR level.

Service to the Armed Forces Emergency Communications provide objective, timely, confidential, factual, complete and verified information about emergency or potential emergency situations involving service members and their immediate family members to enable service members and military authorities to make informed decisions.

Emergency Communications

The American Red Cross offers a variety of health and safety courses to meet your training needs. Choose from courses in Adult CPR, Infant and Child CPR, Standard First Aid, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Babysitter's Training, aquatics programs, and much more!

Health & Safety Services

​​American Red Cross in Okinawa is primarily for the military members and their families. We serve the members in many ways, not only with emergency communications. Our volunteers help in the base schools, post offices, dental clinics, medical clinics, several departments in the US Naval Hospital Okinawa, and other organizations on the bases. We also joined 3rd Dental Battalion Command in offering the Dental Training Program, and the US Naval Hospital for the Medical Assistant Training Program and Pharmacy Technician Program.

American Red Cross on Camp Foster covers all the Marine bases, Fort Buckner, Camp Lester and Naha Port. 

American Red Cross on Kadena Air Base covers the Air Force, the Army Bases, Camp Shields and White Beach.​​
