Service to the Armed Forces Case Management
SAF Emergency Communication Caseworkers are vital members of the American Red Cross. Caseworkers receive training on how to retrieve and deliver Red Cross messages to the unit and to follow-up when appropriate. Familiarity with military terminology is a plus and confidentiality is a must!
Special Events and Recognition Lead
Be part of the team! Assist staff with conducting Red Cross Events such as fund raisers and Appreciation Ceremonies. Experience with organizing an event is desirable, but not required. Volunteer recognition acknowledges the many accomplishments and contributions of our hardworking volunteers. The recognition chair works with station leadership and chairmen to select nominees, coordinate award ceremonies both informal and formal, and put packages together to apply to national level awards.
Assist with the fun and challenging task of marketing the Red Cross services and functions to our military community. Some of the tasks include keeping our website updated, organizing marketing campaigns for events and functions, reaching the community with the info tables, and making sure the printed materials are within Red Cross brand guidelines. Having knowledge of MS Word and Publisher, as well as some knowledge of any photo editing software are greatly appreciated. Be in the mix of everything, and keep everyone posted!
Disaster Action Team Member
Promote disaster preparedness in the community and responds to disasters. NEO and Military exercises included. Volunteers needed for days, evenings, and weekends.
Youth Club Leader
We are looking for an adult volunteer to host a monthly meeting, currently held Tuesday afternoons from 2:30-4:30pm, where we engage youth from ages 15-18 with community related activities. We assist them in the planning and execution of projects where they can interact with community partners and give back to the community itself. Applicants must exemplify the Red Cross values and its mission to inspire our youth club!
Volunteer Intake Manager
Help guide new volunteers through the intake process! Monitor and process new applications submitted in Volunteer Connection, our on-line volunteer management system, and follow up with prospective volunteers to remind them to complete all application steps. Can be done out of office.
Dental Program Lead (position currently filled)
This position is to coordinate the American Red Cross dental assistant training program we have with 3rd Dental Battalion. Depending on availability we offer this program twice a year, for which we receive lots of applications. We need you making sure we have everything going as planned!
Hospital Volunteer Lead
The coordinator places volunteers in the hospital and in the clinics according to their skill and experience, depending on what each department may need. Must be positive, supportive and possess good organizational skills. Minimum of 3 days per week are required to make sure the volunteers get the help they need. If you would like to be in the middle of the hospital making sure the positions are filled with happy volunteers, apply today!
Camp Foster or Hansen Office Volunteer
Want to be a part of the team but aren’t sure where to start? Have a passion for office work? Come join us! Responsibilities include greeting visitors to the ARC office, answering questions and referring clients to the appropriate person or office, handing out volunteer packets as requested, answering the telephone, and taking messages as appropriate. Clerical duties such as filing, copying, updating manuals/SOPs, and data entry as needed.
We speak at events to let everyone know just what all the MCB Butler ARC has to offer and what better way to spread the word than with our passionate, dedicated volunteers! Pre-deployment/Deployment briefs, Family Readiness Group briefs, and Welcome Center briefs are just a few of the areas we cover. Familiarity with PowerPoint and the ability to make updates or changes is a plus!
Positions at US Naval Hospital Okinawa
You must complete the initial Red Cross orientation at the Camp Foster Red Cross office PRIOR to going to the hospital. Then complete the Red Cross hospital orientation and several required courses. Most of the positions available are administrative in nature. If you are a nurse or other licensed professional or have a degree in the medical field more opportunities are open to you.
Must be available for three weekend days of your choice per two year period to teach CPR and First Aid to the community. Possibility of teaching classes during workdays also! Requires 1-2 full days of comprehensive Red Cross training, which is currently available. Scholarship available. Paid positions available in USA.
Pillow Case Project Presenters
Be a presenter for our youth disaster preparedness program! Students learn the best ways to stay safe and how to create their own emergency supply kits by packing essential items in a pillowcase for easy transport during a disaster. Students also have the opportunity to decorate and personalize their pillowcases and share what they’ve learned with friends and family.
Do you enjoy working with computers? We're looking for a motivated individual to assist with computer hardware and software, basic multimedia devices, basic network issues and printer issues.
