Familiarity with PowerPoint and the ability to make updates or changes is a plus!


Camp Foster Office Volunteer. HOT!
Want to be a part of the team but aren’t sure where to start? Have a passion for office work? Come join us! Responsibilities include greeting visitors to the ARC office, answering questions and referring clients to the appropriate person or office, handing out volunteer packets as requested, answering the telephone, and taking messages as appropriate. Clerical duties such as filing, copying, updating manuals/SOPs, and data entry as needed.​

Case Management
SAF Emergency Communication Caseworkers are vital members of the American Red Cross. Caseworkers receive training on how to retrieve and deliver Red Cross message to the unit and to follow-up when appropriate. Familiarity with military terminology is a plus and confidentiality is must!


Concierge Staff

The hospital is looking for lots of volunteers to help guide patients (and staff!) around the new hospital. They ask that you have great interpersonal and customer service skills, are an active listener and a problem solver. If you like meeting new people and helping out, this is a great opportunity! Please contact our office on Camp Foster or at the hospital for more information.


Dental Program Coordinator  HOT! 
This position is to coordinate American Red Cross with the dental training program we have with 3rd Dental Battalion. We offer this course twice a year, for which we receive lots of applications. We need you making sure we have everything going as planned! 


Disaster Preparedness Worker
Promote disaster preparedness in the community and responds to disasters. NEO and Military exercises included. Volunteers needed for days, evenings, and weekends. 


Instructors
Must be available for three days on a weekend per two year period when it fits your own schedule to teach CPR and First Aid to the community. Possibility of teaching classes during workdays also! Requires 3 full days of comprehensive Red Cross training, which is currently available. Scholarship available. Paid positions available in USA.


IT Chair or Assistant  HOT!
Do you enjoy working with computers? We're looking for a motivated individual to assist with computer hardware and software, basic multimedia devices, basic network issues and printer issues. We also need help maintaining our web site and Facebook page. Please contact our office today if interested! 


Marketing Assistant HOT! 
Assist Marketing Chair in the fun and challenging task of marketing the Red Cross services and functions to our military community in FB, Website, Radio and other electronic means. No need to be in daily, but to commit a minimum of two days a week, few hours at time. Before big events more involvement may be required. Some experience in Publisher and Word preferred, ability to edit photos with editing software would be an asset, as well as a way with the words. 


Media Chair HOT! 
Keep your skills up! In this Chair position you can accomplish great publicity for everything related to American Red Cross on this island. Some of the tasks include keeping the electronic media updated,organizing marketing campaigns for events and functions, reaching the community with the info tables, purchasing give aways (extra fun part:get to do on-line shopping and browse catalogs!), and making sure the printed materials are represent in Red Cross within the brand guidelines yet being design balanced. Having knowledge of MS Word and Publisher, as well as some knowledge of any photo editing software are greatly appreciated. Be in the mix of everything, and keep everyone posted! 


Positions at US Naval Hospital Okinawa
You must complete the initial Red Cross orientation at the Camp Foster Red Cross office PRIOR to going to the hospital. Then complete the Red Cross hospital orientation and several required courses. Most of the positions available are administrative in nature. If you are a nurse or other licensed professional or have a degree in the medical field more opportunities are open to you.


Records ChairHOT! 
Use Volunteer Connection to ensure volunteer records are current. Organize the archiving process for older records 


Special Events Chair   HOT! 

Be part of the team! Assist staff with conducting Red Cross Events such as fund raisers and Appreciation Ceremonies. Experience with organizing an event is desirable, but not required.




Blood Services Chair HOT! (position currently filled)
​Collaborate with USPACOM to organize blood drives for Red Cross. Assist volunteers, including phlebotomists, volunteering with USPACOM. 


Hospital Volunteer Coordinator (position currently filled)
Coordinator places volunteers in the hospital and in the clinics according to their skill and experience, depending on what each department may need. Must be positive, supportive and possess good organizational skills. Minimum of 3 half days per week are required to make sure the volunteers get the help they may need. If you would like to be in the middle of the hospital making sure the positions are filled with happy volunteers, apply today! 


PHSS Co-Chair  HOT! (position currently filled)
Support the PHSS Chair in scheduling classes and assigning instructors


Youth Chair HOT! (position currently filled)
Host a weekly meeting, currently held Friday afternoons from 2:30-4:30pm, to engage youth from ages 5-18 in community related activities.Participate with Team OKI in a community event once a month on a weekend.
Interact with community partners to provide opportunities for Team OKI to both help and learn from our community. Uphold Red Cross values and its mission. Must be a current Red Cross volunteer and have 1 year minimum left on island.
